Anyone that knows me understands that I normally can't keep a plant alive. I'm rarely home, so things don't get the proper care they should. I've tried many times and...nothing. But since I've had my cats for a few years now and they're still alive, I thought maybe it's time to try again. And since I love to cook, I thought herbs would be a good start. So, the other day, I hopped on down to Target and bought some packs of seeds in their lovely $1 section. That's right, I'm starting from scratch. I'm not going to buy a full grown plant and try to keep it alive, I'm tackling this project from the beginning. (What can I say, I'm an overachiever.)
These kits make it pretty simple. It comes with everything you need (except the water, of course) to get the seeds germinating. The dirt comes in a compressed puck shape and you just add a bit of water. It plumps up and you stuff it in the tiny pot that's provided. Then you put a few seeds just under the dirt and keep it moist until it sprouts.
Well, guess what? I did it! I've got green! I'm so excited! I'll keep you posted on the progress, but I'm just tickled pink...er, green.
